The Leadership Stillwater Alumni Association (LSAA) invites you to nominate candidates for the Outstanding Leader Award. The purpose of this award is to recognize exceptional leadership demonstrated in the Stillwater community. All nominees must be members in good standing with the LSAA. The award winner will be presented at the LSAA Annual Meeting. The winner will receive a free lifetime membership to the LSAA and may be asked to make appearances at special events in the following year. In addition to this form, please attach a letter of nomination, one additional letter of support, and any other supporting documentation considered appropriate. Letters should reference specific examples of leadership relating to the following qualities:

• Commitment. A leader is committed to establishing programs to develop leaders for the future.


• Communication. A leader possesses the willingness to listen. He/she is able to communicate effectively and elicit action.


• Competence. A leader has the ability to think, plan, and successfully carry out a project.


• Courage. A leader has the courage to let go of the familiar and forge ahead into a new territory.


• Servant Leadership. A leader puts the needs of others ahead of personal desire or agenda.


• Life Long Learning. A leader listens and maintains a willingness to admit that he/she doesn’t know everything.
